STAND SPECIFICATIONS

All Stands are 3.6m x 3.6m(12.96m2), with black Velcro - receptive walls, 2.3m high.

As outline in the application form black walls come standard with your stand purchase. If you have requested colored walls, you will be charge for this by Peek Displays at $15.00 + gst per linear meter.

Exhibitors desiring carpet will need to make their own arrangements which can be made with Peek Display Corporation Ltd or any other preferred supplier.

The Expo Management must be notified prior to the expo of the following:

  • The intention of bringing in large machinery so special arrangements can be made
  • If any live animals are being brought into the show.
  • Of the intended operation of any machinery i.e welders, power tools etc which may cause injury or fire.  Please note these requests must have prior approval of the venue management for OSH and insurance purposes

TEACHERS’ EVENING

The Teachers’ Evening will again be held in Dunedin as at all our venues. The purpose of the special evening sessions is to give careers advisers and subject teachers a first-hand insight into the EXPOs and to facilitate a free and informative exchange between them and exhibitors.

The teachers will have the opportunity to see how the EXPO functions (without their students) and talk to you about your links with their students. This will take place from 4.00pm -7:00 pm, Monday 17 May. This operates during the late night session. It’s important that you and your stands are prepared.

To enable teachers to be better informed about your stands, please identify the school subjects to which your organization relates. If you have not let Maggie Hames, Schools Co-ordinator, know which teachers you wish to target in terms of subject, please e-mail her on mhames@aggs.school.nz by 1 April as an information sheet will be given to each teacher attending the Event.

PRE-EXPO CONSIGNMENT OF EXHIBIT MATERIALS

If consigning exhibit materials to the EXPO venue, use the following address:

Your consigners should be instructed to ensure delivery no earlier than Saturday 15th May.

ADMISSION

Entry to the venue is free for all exhibitors and visitors. The Event Manager reserves the right to refuse, on reasonable grounds, entry to any person.

PARKING

There is an abundance of parking at the Edgar Centre and it's free of charge.

SECURITY

No passes will be used.

Within the Dunedin Centre, security will be maintained at all times throughout the EXPO. Even so, the rule is, ‘all practical care but no responsibility taken.’ We therefore recommend due vigilance at all times when the EXPO is open to the public.

To maintain maximum security for everyone’s belongings, the security guards will be acting under the direction not to allow the removal of any goods at the end of each day until the conclusion of the EXPO without prior arrangement.

ADVERTISING/ PROMOTION OF THE EXPO

  • Advertising and promotion is yet to be confirmed and you will be notified of this in future news letters.

ACCOMMODATION

For full information on all available accommodation, we recommend that you consult your travel agent.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS

There will be a telephone located at the reception area. (15 - 18 May only.) The number for the Edgar Centre is 03 456 1200, then ask to be put through to the Careers Expo Reception Desk

Internet Connections
Wireless internet conectivity is available at the venue. Exhibitors wanting to make use of this need to make arrangements with Russell Lundy or Blair Crawford at the Edgar Centre. A charge of $15.00 is applicable and will be charged directly by the venue. See venue contact details below

REFRESHMENTS

Exhibitors may use a special Exhibitors’ Lounge in the complex. Tea and coffee in this lounge will be available free to Exhibitors and EXPO personnel only.

ELECTRICITY

Electricity this year is supplied as part of your stand package.

STAND LIGHTING

2 lights come standard with your stand package. however arrangements for hired supplementary Stand lighting can be made with Lauren King of PEEK DISPLAY.

STAND FURNISHINGS

Hire of tables, chairs and a variety of associated display items including electronic equipment can be arranged through PEEK DISPLAY. To ascertain your needs, Peek Display will be in touch well prior to the EXPO but feel free to contact Lauren at any time.

BANNER HANGING

If you need help to hang banners or similar items from the ceiling above your exhibit, contact Lauren at Peek Display during the week before the event.

NOISE LEVELS

Needless to say, with thousands of students over two days, the EXPO will be a very lively place with a clearly perceptible background noise level! In communicating by whatever means with your ‘audience,’ we ask simply that you consider your neighbouring Exhibitors. In other words, please keep noise levels to a reasonable and acceptable level. As you will appreciate and as indicated in the contract form, the management must reserve the right to have any ‘offenders’ accede to this request.

FIRE AND EMERGENCY

In the event of fire, please leave the venue immediately by the nearest exit, following the instructions of the venue staff. Do not attempt to take personal belongings with you. Please take note of any disabled persons in your area and assist if possible. Do not obstruct any fire exits with display materials.

While making every effort to respect and fulfill Exhibitors’ wishes, the EXPO organizers reserve at all times the right to adjust site plans if deemed necessary. Any exhibitors affected by any such changes will be advised separately and individually.

MISCELLANEOUS

If you need help or advice during the EXPO, just approach the front desk. All staff will do whatever they can to assist.
